Indifference hides its head in the sand, love compels action. Do you know someone who once walked with God, was on fire, actively involved and then something happened to them and you never see or hear from them again? Sadly how often does our concern result only in gossip for a few days and then we forget all about them.
The Bible says if someone wanders away from the truth and is brought back, whoever brings the sinner back will save that person from death, and bring about forgiveness of many sins.
The next time a person that you used to fellowship with or maybe they were in your Sunday school class, cell group or bible study group enters your mind, lift them up in prayer to the Lord and be prepared to be used by Him to contact them. Preferably face to face or over the phone, texting and email are great but they both definitely have their limitations.
Just the idea of contacting them brings various scenarios, how will they react, will they think I am judging them, or just snooping around in their business? Just make up your mind to show love to them and your willingness to subject yourself to their possible rejection will show them that you care.
I'm not saying that it is easy, the Christian life isn't easy but the way of the transgressor is really hard! Sometimes they listen and receive and other times they blow you off, either way they will one day know that you cared enough about them to reach out to them.
To stand by and do nothing is what the world is all about. A believer is to reach out in love and throw someone a life line when they are sinking.
God is revealing to me right now someone I need to call and after I post this that is exactly what I am going to do. I have no idea if this person will even talk to me, but God has put them on my heart and I must be obedient to Him.
